Morro Rock, in Morro Bay, California, has some hidden delights (and some not-so-hidden). In addition to the parking and access to the beach, you are almost guaranteed to see sea otters!
Someone built a bird bath near the sea otter viewing area and Rocko got to fill it with fresh water. Enough people who come to see the otters apparently like to feed the ground squirrels (don't feed them!), that they come begging for food.

We could hear the otters squeaking to each other and saw them rolling around and playing! Here Rocko points to the otters while standing by the bird bath he filled:
Also, it turns out if you walk the path around the rock to the breaker wall, you will find a magical cairn landscape. Rocko spent about thirty minutes building his own additions. Joy was "baby destructo" and had to be removed from the area. She and I explored the beach nearby.
Joy, Rocko, and I traveled there with my cousin/best friend, Caroline (all these blog pictures are hers) to meet with a group of awesome friends for food and adventure.
We had a magical time in the cool fog of Morro "Gray".
